Tonight, just before 7:30, this is what I saw. Red called me and told me to quickly go look at the western sky. I peaked out my kitchen window and could see a reddish glow. I ran down to my room to grab my camera, and ran outside to see this. Wow!

VERY, VERY BEAUTIFUL.
waaaaaahhhhh... all i could do was keep glancing at it as i drove... it was over by the time i got to my destination :( that and i didn't have my camera with me.
the sky was sooo on fire... and after this orangy glow you see in these pics, the clouds went to light pink and then hot pink! then faded to gray.
but i'm really glad you caught the message and ran to take a look and get some pics!
Love that scene! Wow.
Thanks Lynne and Mary. I'm glad you enjoyed the photos and that I could share a piece of my "world" with you. I will admit, we don't get sunset's like this very often. We had more of this kind when I lived in Albuquerque.
Hey, Red, thanks to you I was able to react quickly. I guess we could say that it was one of those rare chances that I was home and could get some shots when you were on the road and couldn't stop. And who would have thought you should carry your camera with you in the evenings? Right?
Beautiful warm pictures. The last one is especially stunning.
Mary!!!
These pictures are sooo beautiful!
I love the sky when it looks like fire :)
How lucky you are to live with skies like that. We haven't seen the sun in days.
Happy Spring, Mary!
BEE-YOO-TEE-FULL Mary! I would call that a "Thomas Kinkade Sunset!"
Hello, Ruth, Mel, Cathy, and Ruthie. Thanks for stopping by; I'm so glad you could enjoy the photos. I just wish you all could have been here in person to see it. Ruthie - a Kinkade sunset? Wow! I will admit that I would not have seen as much red in the sky if it were later in the year. As you can see in the photos there are quite a few trees around us here on our street. And if they were all leafed out, it wouldn't have been as impressive.
Mary, I just love this photo! The way you framed this with the red and black's together like this! Bravo!
Thanks, Monarch! I've really enjoyed improving my ability to take photos. My daughter, Red, has been an amateur photographer for quite a few years and has always had more artistic ability on how to "frame" one's subject. So, I can thank her for her tips.
Ocean - thanks for the compliment. My daughter, Red, is the one who created the template for me. Check at the very bottom of the page, and the acknowledgement is noted as
BirdsNBlooms designed by Red. I passed on the compliment to my daughter earlier in the week. If you would like to see some of her other designs you can visit her at http://redsthemestorage.yuku.com/directory or visit her blog at http://mmatm.blogspot.com/. I think you will like what you see. Thanks again!
Gorgeous Photos! I'd love to be taking a walk through a field waching that sunset.
yes, thanks Island Rambles (Ocean)! I think i've popped on your site once before through a google search!... looks familiar. :)
