At the same time, I also saw a snowy egret, also on top of another fishing vessel.

Welcome to my little corner of the world where I like to share some of my favorites in nature photography, places I like to visit, my pets, what I like to read, and occasionally my favorite local sports team.

Mary - I'm new at birding and I don't recognize it. If I had my field guide with me at work, I'd love to look it up. Do you have a field guide? I find them to be very helpful. That's a pretty bird, though!
I am not an expert on Gulls -- far from it but I'm pretty sure that it is a Laughing Gull in the non-breeding plumage. Maybe someone more experienced can confirm this.
