Cranes, cranes, cranes of the Sandhill kind

All of the following photos were taken on the same day - Saturday, Nov 17th, at the Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge. As you can probably tell from the pictures, skies were clear and the weather was beautiful.

Below are Sandhill cranes flying in for the evening.

More cranes flying in.

And our sunset for the evening.

Mary, your photos are stunning. I am totally envious of you. Sandhill cranes are elegant and I'm so glad you are sharing your trip.

Gosh Mary, that is SO cool! I suppose they're calling to each other the whole time also?

I'm glad you had good weather and a wonderful time. (I gotta save up some money for another trip to New Mexico and this festival.)

Mary and Ruthie - thanks. And yes, I truly believe everyone should try to get to New Mexico for this festival at least once in their lifetime. You would thoroughly enjoy yourselves.
