Today we celebrate the birthday of our nation, and celebrate our freedom. While getting a photo of our flag hanging out in the front yard, I thought I would throw in a few more pix. These are all pictures of our crepe myrtle. We have what I call a "late bloomer." Most everyone else's in the neighborhood bloomed back in May and June. Our tree doesn't bloom until most of the other flowers in our front yard are done blooming.
Happy Fourth of July everyone!

Happy 4th of July to you and your family! Happy Birthday America!
I hope you had a grand day! Our crepe myrtles are late this year, too. They just started blooming.
Wow, Mary, love those gorgeous pink blossoms. Do the hummingbirds and bees like them too?
Thanks everyone - I had a peaceful day off. Mary, are there more than one species of crepe myrtles? My neighbors' trees all bloom earlier. But my tree always blooms later in the summer. Ruthie, yes! I saw one of my hummers all over it yesterday morning. And as for the bees - I tried to get a picture of a bumblebee on the blossom yesterday, but like the birds they all kept eluding me. I think they are all camera shy. :) I'm still gonna try to get a photo of a bee and possibly a hummer at the blossoms. Wish me luck! :)
